Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
In short: your countdown, dates and photo stay on your iPhone. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking. We receive only anonymous usage counts, crash reports and the record of a Pro purchase, and none of it says who you are.
1. Who we are
The controller of your personal data is the operator of Last Clockout, based in Italy.
Contact for any privacy question or request: support@lastclockout.com
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer. This policy covers the Last Clockout app for iPhone and Apple Watch, and the website lastclockout.com.
2. Data we collect
Stored only on your devices
- Your countdowns: your last working day, first day of work, work days, holidays, vacation days, pay schedule, hours a day, clock-out time, countdown names and your own milestones. They are saved on your iPhone and copied to your own Apple Watch if you use one. We never receive them.
- Your photo (Pro): if you pick a background photo, a copy is saved on your iPhone for the countdown, widgets and cards. It is never uploaded.
- Birth month and year: if you use "pick by age", they are used once to find your date and are not saved.
- Milestone alerts: scheduled on your iPhone as local notifications. No server sends them.
- Share cards: made on your iPhone and sent only where you choose to send them.
Sent to us or our providers
- Anonymous usage events (app): counts and choices such as "onboarding completed", "widget added", "Pro screen shown" or "card shared", with numbers and options only (for example how many workdays are left, or which widget size). Never your dates, names or anything you type. Each install has a random ID that is not linked to you and resets if you reinstall.
- Crash reports (app): when the app crashes, a report with the technical error, your device model, iOS version and app version, and a random installation ID.
- Purchase records (app): if you buy Pro, the App Store receipt and a random app user ID, so the purchase can be checked and restored. Payment itself is handled by Apple; we never see your card or your Apple ID.
- Support emails: if you write to us, your email address and message.
- Website visits: which pages you open, how far you scroll, whether you tap the App Store button, the referring site and campaign tags, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address (the address itself is not stored). No cookies are set; a temporary ID lives only in that browser tab and is gone when you close it.
- Website server logs: our hosting provider records your IP address and browser in its request logs to deliver the site and keep it secure.
We do not collect your name, email (unless you write to us), contacts, location, health data or advertising identifier, and the app never asks to track you.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the app and Pro (performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): your countdowns, alerts and widgets on your devices, and checking and restoring your Pro purchase.
- To understand and improve the app and the website (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)): anonymous usage events, crash reports and website visit statistics. Our interest is knowing which features are used, which crash, and which pages bring people to the App Store. We weighed this against your rights: the data is anonymous or pseudonymous, never linked to your identity and never used for advertising. You can object at any time (section 7).
- To answer you (legitimate interest, or a contract where you ask about your purchase): support emails.
- To run the website securely (legitimate interest): server logs.
Providing this data is not required: you can use the app without writing to us, and the countdown works without any data leaving your iPhone. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Who receives it
We do not sell or share your personal data for advertising. We use these providers, each under a data processing agreement:
- PostHog Inc.: anonymous usage events from the app and website statistics, processed on PostHog's EU servers (Frankfurt). IP addresses are discarded.
- Google LLC (Firebase Crashlytics): crash reports, processed in the United States.
- Google LLC (Firebase Hosting): serving the website, through Google's global network.
- RevenueCat Inc.: checking and restoring Pro purchases, processed in the United States.
- Apple: App Store payments and app distribution, under Apple's own privacy policy, and the connection between your iPhone and Apple Watch.
5. International transfers
Google and RevenueCat process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the company is certified, and on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses in their data processing agreements. PostHog processes our data in the EU.
6. How long we keep it
- Data on your devices: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- Anonymous usage events and website statistics: for as long as our analytics plan keeps them, after which they are deleted automatically.
- Crash reports: kept for 90 days, after which Google deletes them from its systems.
- Purchase records: for as long as you might need to restore Pro. Apple keeps its own record of your purchase, which is Apple's and not ours to delete.
- Support emails: up to two years after the conversation ends, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Website server logs: for the hosting provider's log retention period.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
- correct it (Art. 16);
- have it deleted (Art. 17);
- restrict how we use it (Art. 18);
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20);
- object to its use based on legitimate interest, including analytics and crash reports (Art. 21).
Most of your data is only on your devices, so you control it directly: edit or remove it in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. For anything we or our providers hold, email support@lastclockout.com. We answer within one month (up to three for complex requests). Because the data we receive is not linked to your identity, we may not be able to find it; we will tell you if so. How deletion works, step by step: Delete your data.
You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority in your own country.
8. United States residents
The categories of data we collect are listed in section 2, and why in section 3. You have the right to know what we collect, to ask us to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise your rights, email support@lastclockout.com. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
9. Children
Last Clockout is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new date. If a change is material, for example a new kind of data or a new provider, we will also tell you in the app.
